Gateway Community Services has a portable coffee caravan that will be set up regularly on Wednesdays at Joan Kirner House. On Wednesday 26 of June we went through a trial and the result was fantastic. The initiative encourages people to come out of their homes and enjoy a free hot drink, snack and promote social engagement. People will enjoy board games, iPads, tablet use and other activities. The Café will be run by Project Officer Alex, and trained volunteers. The Café will have chairs and tables and distribute information about their own community services. The official Launch at Joan Kirner House will be on Wednesday morning July 24 at 11.00am.
