Enjoy a day of fun and play-based learning without the school groups, while experiencing some of the vibrant cultures of Indigenous Australia.

Partnering with SNAICC – National Voice for our Children, Scienceworks celebrates Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day with a special day dedicated to Koorie people, knowledge, stories and culture.

Explore Indigenous Australian constellations in the Planetarium, get involved in traditional performances and Aboriginal art experiences, and come to face to face with some real Australian animals including frogs, turtles and snakes!

Little Kids’ Day In on Monday 5 August will be a fun day especially for kids aged 5 and under, their parents and carers.

PERFORMANCES
One Fire Aboriginal Dance Company 11.00am
One of Melbourne’s leading Indigenous dance troupes. This 30-minute performance will feature live Indigenous music and invite participation from our young audience.

Indigenous Hip Hop Performance Workshop 12.30pm
Get up, get involved, and be amazed by high-energy hip hop performances by Indigenous contemporary artists in this 45-minute workshop that promotes self-empowerment and connection with traditional culture.

PLANETARIUM SHOWS
Storytelling under the Stars 11.30am, 12.00, 12.30 & 1.00pm
Learn about Indigenous Australian constellations and star stories in these 15-minute sessions exploring the night sky in the Planetarium.

Tycho to the Moon 1.30pm
Meet Tycho, the first dog on the moon. Share the adventures of Tycho and his young friends Ruby and Michael as they blast off to the moon.
