Enjoy a day of fun and play-based learning activities without the school groups!

In partnership with Playgroup Victoria, Scienceworks gets ready for a Grand Adventure at our next Little Kids\’ Day In event, transforming into a vibrant and engaging space dedicated to kids 5 and under, their parents and carers. We’ll have unique play-based experiences and a huge range of activities, circus, music, storytelling and shows.

Boogie with the Funky Monkey Family band as they journey through the forest and around the world, explore circus tricks in the Dreaming Space, join in storytelling and music sessions, and make your own tambourine to take home!

PERFORMANCES

All Come Out to Play: 11.00pm
Join in this interactive musical journey celebrating respectful relationships and gender equality through music, games and storytelling. This session includes an Acknowledgment of Country and runs for 40 minutes, with loads of fun for kids and adults.

The Funky Monkey Family in the Jungle: 12.00pm
Creep into the woods to see what we can find! Who knows what fun hides in there – hip-hopping bears, rockin’ robins or maybe even giant bubbles that whisk us away to another world? Adventure awaits in this 30-minute performance, filled with music, magic and mystery.

The Funky Monkey Family around the World: 1.30pm
Come on a whirlwind journey with circus acts, magic tricks and funky music. Do you love being a monkey jumping on the bed? Maybe climbing trees in Africa instead! Find out what kind of world it would be if we were all one big Funky Monkey Family in this 30-minute performance.

Sing and Grow: 12.45 & 2.00pm
Sing along with Jess and her guitar in these 15-minute music sessions.

Science Storytime: 10.30am & 2.30pm
Bring your listening ears and join in these 20-minute storytelling sessions, featuring live science demonstrations.

Try your hand (or leg or head!) at circus tricks with a skilled facilitator in the Dreaming Space.

Make a Shaker: 10.00am – 3.00pm
Make your own tambourine to take home.

Let’s Get Musical: 10.00am – 3.00pm
Drop in, grab an instrument and play along in these outdoor musical sessions by Sing and Grow. Weather permitting.

Games for Gigglers: 10.00am – 3.00pm
Get messy, play games, and get active out on the arena!

The Book Nook: 10.00am – 3.00pm
Produce your own book, share stories, explore the book cubby, and settle down to read with Hobson’s Bay Libraries.

Federation Bells: 10.00am – 3.00pm
Create a tune using the beautiful Federation Bells.

Bub Hub: 10.00am – 3.00pm
A space reserved for the littlest of little kids to enjoy some sensory exploration and play in a safe environment.
