Since receiving their donation from Community Pitch 2019, 300 Blankets has continued to expand its Soul Kitchen program so that they now deliver their much-loved services to local families and now see over 200 volunteers and beneficiaries each month!

Soul Kitchen is a program that runs on Sunday evenings at the Braybrook Community Centre. A dedicated team of volunteers not only prepare an amazingly nutritious meal, but also share this meal with those who may be struggling to make ends meet or who are feeling socially isolated. It provides an opportunity to bring the local community together in a safe and respectful environment for anyone who wishes to share a meal, chat or play games.

One of the main aims of Community Pitch is to connect local businesses with local community groups and Soul Kitchen has welcomed ongoing support from the wider community. They’ve been pleased to report that during the past six months, Pitch Partners have volunteered at the program while Seddon Vet Hospital have kindly offered their large washing machines to wash table cloths at no cost.
